The Charger Story.
Charger Composites is a combination of 2 great company’s:
Vene Björndahl is started in the 80′s by Ingmar Björndahl and has over the years developed from a small gagrage based one man company into a modern boat builder that builds sailing boats like the 2.4 mR, Still 525, Optimist dinghy, Europe class, Shark 2000 etc.
In 2001 after working for several years for vene Björndahl, Evert Aartsen (Married to Ingmars daughter Annika ) decides to start his own company. the company is named Charger Ski boats and starts with the design of a own outboard waterski boat. Evert is working alone the first year and then starts to build sea kayaks as a sub contractor to Skim Kayaks from Sweden in order to fill the order stock. after a while Charger Ski Boats moves to a bigger facility and start to hire their first employees. In the years to come Charger is developing its skills and know how of sophisticated laminating techniques and is now building moulds and parts for different kind of products, from sailing boat parts to parts of rally auto’s.
At the summer of 2005 Ingmar Björndahl is ready to go into retirement and is looking for a way to get his lifework to continue, discussions between Ingmar and Evert and his wife Annika are started and in January 2006 Charger Ski Boats changes name to Charger Composites and parts of Vene Björndahl are purchased by Charger Composites. The production of the 2.4 mR, the Optimist Dinghy and several sub contracting deals are brought to Charger Composites. Charger will rent the factory from Vene Björndahl and take over the complete personnel. At that point we have combined the best of two Worlds; we have the innovative and modern thinking of a young company and at the same-time the experience and traditions of a company that has over 25 years of experience in the branch.
Now its nearly 2011, Charger Composites is operating in a brand new state of the art facility that they build in 2008. Our focus now is on Building the best possible boats we will not cut corners in quality to build a cheap boat. Our boats are superior quality at a fair price.
